i think he gerrard was a good choice. didnt andrew lloyd webber say that he preferred gerrard’s voice over the ones he has heard in the musicals? anyways, i thought the phantom’s appeal was his compositions; his music. not his voice..

Could you please try and make your opinion a little less harsh next time? I don’t mean to be mean because stage performances are definitely hard to exceed in ANY show, but i really love this movie and i’m sure the stage performance is amazing too. THanks and if you reply back saying “i don’t really care you moron” or something like that, it’s just a suggestion. I’m not trying to be mean. SORRY. =P

Ehhh…Anyone who sees this and thinks Gerrard has a good voice obviously knows nothing about theater or singing. GRANTED that its not his fault, he did the best he could for his abilities, he was just poorly cast in this film. They should have gotten someone who could sing from the get go. They cast him because he’s attractive, but the Phantom’s appeal was never supposed to be for his looks (duh). His appeal came from his voice.

you are retarded if you think the movie is better than the stage performance, correction even a retard would know that the stage performance is better. You are just dumb Performing on stage is 1. 10000000 times harder to do than a ing movie. 2. the movie does not capture the full aspect of what the plot how it is a play inside a play. If you have seen the stage performance which you probably haven’t you would know that your statement is false.
