However, to make it easy for you, I looked it up in the World Book encyclopedia. According to World Book, Britain began bombing Germany in 1940, and the US entered the air war in 1942.

After entering the war, the US conducted air raids on German occupied territories in France and Germany itself with bombers flying from air bases in England.
