Though Christian grew to be a very large male lion, there were many groups of wild male lions in the region that could have easily killed him to take over his pride. These lions were very aggressive unlike Christian who was said to be a lover not a fighter.

I also would have liked it if John and Ace had placed Christian in a Sanctuary, but unlike today there werent very many of them in the early 1970s.

Its amazing..and introducing him into the wild was a good thing at least he then had the chance to live a normal life like a lion should live. I cant stop watching it I love it so much.

The lion would have been much better off at a wild animals sanctuary where he could have roamed around, gotten together with other lions, but still he would have been protected, he wouldn’t have run the chance of being killed by poachers or die some other way.He was instead released into the wild. It is like taking a domestic cat and reintroducing him into the wild once he’s one year old. Not right towards the animal.
