“Anol Shalom means …
“Anol Shalom means “Now we are free”
The lyrics, come from a local North African language,
deriving from the language of the Moors,
& believed to be similar to a local language
once spoken in Ancient Spain, thus it is used
in the film “the Gladsiator”, as that is where
the Gladiator is from “i.e. The Spaniard”
Pre-Roman Spain was part of the Moorish empire,
which stretched from North Africa to Spain,
& a language similar to the lyrics of this song,
was once spoken in both parts.”
